Hi. I’m Kathleen (@DomestiKat).

In 2006, I bought my first house, a 1904 fixer-upper in the heart of Seattle. Ambitious and energetic, I started making my mark on that house: starting with painting and minor repairs and then moving into a full-blown (almost fully DIY) kitchen renovation. DomestiKat was a blog I started to document and share that renovation with family and friends.

Since that time, Jon (Mr. W), a fellow lover-of-old-houses-and-DIY-project-junkie, and I met, got married, had a baby, sold the Seattle house, moved to Minnesota, bought an 1867 fixer-upper (and have been working on her non-stop), had another baby, and here we are today.

The rise of Instagram has only fueled my design, DIY and home improvement desires more than ever before. And it’s pushed me to breathe some new life into DomestiKat. So here we are, version 2.0: new “old” house, new projects and adventures, same old DomestiKat (just with a boatload of more boys).
